London Manufacturing Advisory Service

The London Manufacturing Advisory Service (LMAS) is a £3.9million initiative, funded by the LDA and European Regional Development Fund, to improve and extend a successful service to help London’s manufacturing sector. The support available is targeted to help small to medium sized manufacturers grow and compete in their respective markets, further supporting London’s economy through the downturn and improving its competitiveness for the recovery.

The Manufacturing Advisory Service is part of the London Development Agency’s ‘Solutions for Business’ portfolio and is a commitment set out in the Mayor’s Economic Recovery Action Plan. LMAS provides professional advice on a one-to-one basis and through workshops led by consultants with expertise across the field of advanced manufacturing.

Those businesses identified as having the potential to innovate and grow will be particularly targeted by the service with advice on improving and developing existing and new products, implementing more efficient production methods and techniques and securing new markets.  This includes identifying and introducing 'lean', smarter and greener production processes using new sophisticated technologies.  

The LDA has appointed Grant Thornton UK LLP (working in partnership with ANGLE, PERA Innovation, and Unipart Logistics) as delivery partner for the Programme.
